WWF's mission is to conserve nature and ecological processes by:

-preserving genetic, species, and ecosystem diversity
-ensuring that the use of renewable resources is sustainable both now and in the longer term
-promoting actions to reduce pollution and the wasteful exploitation and consumption of resources and energy

WWF actively supports on-the-ground conservation programs all over the world. In all its work, WWF encourages ecologically sustainable development.

WWF enlists the support of governments and non-governmental conservation organizations, and religious and cultural bodies, while making a particularly point of responding to local conservation needs, and working with local people. It also sponsors educational and training programs for park and wildlife managers, ecologists, and teachers, and works with trade and industry associations to improve environmental practices. The organization also significantly reinforces the effectiveness of wildlife trade monitoring.
